Baby Magnum Hopper Fire

We bought this stove after the salesmen at Lawson's, 194 Killam Dr, Moncton, NB E1C 3S4. talked us into buying this POS pellet stove! We were looking to buy a wood stove chimney and am very sorry we stopped in to see our old school buddy. We found out after the store had to hire outside to get the unit installed.

After we called for support we have not heard again from the firm.

We are currently heating with electric.

We have dissembled the unit to find lots of build up in the...

I have the opportunity to purchase a slightly used Husky 550xp for $475. The owner said it was used to cut one limb. The photos of it look great. Is this a fair price? What should I look for when examining the saw?

I am purchasing an 8x20ft shipping container ("conex") which I will be using as a toolshed and small workshop. I want to have some electrical service out there, for a compressor, fluorescent lighting, and some outlets for power tools etc; no HVAC or anything like that. I've gleaned quite a bit good information from this thread:

2 stoves 1 flu

Now before people say don't do it don't do it I know not to do it I'm just looking for answers to why. I bought my grandparents farmhouse. My pap ran a oil boiler and a coal boiler to the same flu with a stove pipe y. Some info on the place. The flu is 38ft high from where the stove pipe goes into the basement wall to the top. The liner is 12x12 clay. When my paps coal boiler broke he was to old to be going to basement anymore so they just hooked up the oil boiler to the chimney. He had the...

combustion fan won't shut off - Ashby Insert - 2 years old - Triac?

Blew the 5amp fuse on the circuit board. Replaced. Now on shut down everything shuts down but combustion fan. Disconnected wire on POF switch. Fan keeps running. Thinking (from reading other threads) I may have a shorted triac. Am I analyzing this correctly? If so, how would I know which triac to replace? Upper, lower, or both? Thanks

Hey guys, I got this stuff a while back for free off Craigslist. I'm sure it will be more obvious to some of you than it is for me as a newbie. The wood is extremely dense (heavy) and splits very nice. An ID would be appreciated!

Vent pipe over exisiting chimney liner?

$

This might be an odd question but I am hoping you guys have some input. I have a MASSIVE chimney (12ft x 5ft) and I am having it torn down due water problems. There is only one flue I need to save and that is for my woodburner in the basement. There is an existing liner that is in good shape and I've had no problems with it. My question is, is it possible to adapt the existing liner so it can be piped right through the roof so I don't have to have a new, single flue masonry chimney...

Ps50 auger problem

I think my control box is not working to run the auger. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the control box? The stove dumped a very large amount of pellets completely over flowing the burn box. Now the auger will not run. The ignitor is working fine. Thermostat is working fine. But the auger will not feed pellets. Checked the vacuum switch and that is working. I noticed a flashing blue light that flashes 4 times when it is turned on. Is this an error code? The box is a little pricey so I...

Non-Insulated liner, and burning unseasoned wood... This is a no-no

So this is not my chimney... Repeat, not mine... I have a liner with vermiculite and a block off plate. Although I occasionally burn somewhat questionable wood (Sorry wood Gods!)

This is a buddy of mine, he happens to be a volunteer fireman as well, so you would think he would know better. Check out his before and after photos of one season of burning with a non-insulated exposed brick chimney on a ranch with unseasoned wood...

I spent the last two weeks up in NH at my father's house (he has a Harman XXV) and a friends condo (he has a Quadra-Fire Castile.

I've had a Hearthstone Heritage SoapStone wood stove for the past 7 years that we use to heat the downstairs of our 3400 sq foot house. (1700 sq ft down). After spending two weeks heating with pellet stoves.. I was sold.

I spent 3 days reviewing, researching all brands of pellet stoves and finally settled on the Harman Absolute 63. I found a dealer in MD...

Harman Absolute 43 issues-need help

My one year old absolute 43 started feeding too many pellets and would fill the ash pan in 1 1/2 days with partially burned pellets. Easy fix right? Turn down the feed limit, right? Nope! Did the same thing the next day 25%(lowest feed rate). So I gave the stove a good cleaning and I have the dealer coming out to give it its first pro clean. I am not sure if it works because now it says "Warning:door open" and the pressure switch wont close so the stove will not ignite. I obviously have the...

This is a place for roadside diggers to post pics of their prize soon to be ashes.
These were in the biodegradable section of the city dump.

Left the gnarly stuff as that's all there was. These were found rolling uglies out of the way
and hiding underneath from previous scroungers. Luckily overlooked.

Yes I know Primary is misspelled in the title.
Just thought I'd give EKO guys a heads up if this issue arises.
I installed my 60 in 2008 and have had no issues. Recently it wouldn't produce btu's. After cleaning the turbulators and no luck I took the blower panel off and found the primary shutters clogged up. The mice decided to make nests (boiler is in out-building) then gradually ash and creosote fully blocked it.
With a quick cleaning all is good. Guess I'll have to check it again before...

What Is In Your Stove Right Now?

Temps were in the 20's this morning. I woke up and checked the firebox of my All Nighter Moe, which I found still had some coals from last nights overnight burn. I tossed in a few pieces of pine to get it started up again, shortly followed by a link or two of cherry which coal up real nice, and topped off with some ash splits to last a few hours.

I vary my wood types by time of day, outside/inside temps, and length of burn. What is in your stove right now?

View attachment 195611 View attachment 195612 View attachment 195613 Bought this stove new in 2011. Added the rear blower in 2012. Stove works perfectly. Comes with a spare baffle (the first one crumbled after two years, so I replaced it and bought a spare), and vent pipe to go up to a 9' ceiling. Top vent base does have some chipped porcelain... does not affect function.

Located in Richmond, Va.

hello all, this is my first post on this site so if I'm in the wrong place with this I'm sorry. I'm about 75% done building a new wood gasifacion boiler and trying to find a controller to handle the fan and water temp. .I want to have the fan startup to ramp up not just start at full power and slow down when close to upper temp. I was looking at a rk2001ua but don't know if it's what I need or not. This is the second boiler I've built. The first one burns coal and is controlled from an...
